drama teams

Over the last 7 years n:flame has produced various forum theatre productions to help us teach on topical issues in Secondary schools.  Team members are either dedicated volunteers or part of our GAP team with a specific interest in drama.  Forum theatre is a powerful tool for getting young people to interact with the issue being addressed.  It can give young people the chance to express their deepest thoughts without feeling exposed as in other settings.  Actors need to be able to improvise and answer audience questions in character.

n:flame has produced three prodoctions for use in schools.  They are:

STOP - Bullying in schools
Stop is a workshop geared for Yrs 7 and 8 and presents a scenario of a bullying situation that spans both home and school.

THE PROBLEM WITH BEING LYDIA - Exploring the issues behind self harm
"Lydia" is geared more to Yr10+ and presents the story of a young girl who self harms, and how her friends and her home life spark off complex emotions which fuel her behaviour.

BY HIS STRIPES - pressure and persecution
Our most recent production "By His Stripes" is a dramatised chat show done in the stuyle of "Jeremy Kyle" where Jesus Christ is put on trial through a series of characters from his life.  It explores the issues of sexual pressure, peer pressure, bullying and self harm.
